MERGING SPECIES

interdisciplinary performance - experimental opera
2025

Pictures - George Fok

MERGING SPECIES unfolds as a performance where gesture, opera, electronics and scenographic space merge into a single evolving score.

The work brings together modular synthesis, violin and the voice of soprano Michelle Bawden within an electronic composition. Her voice is performed live and transformed in real time through a gestural electronic interface performed by Gabriela Hébert.

Through her movements, the voice is continuously reshaped, creating a dynamic relationship between the two performers and the surrounding space.
