MERGING SPECIES
2025interdisciplinary performance - experimental operaPictures : George Fok
MERGING SPECIES unfolds as a spatial musical performance, where gesture, voice, electronics and space form a single living score. A live musical performance built on interactive electronic composition and the real-time transformation of operatic voice.
The mixed composition brings together modular textures, synthesizers, violin and operatic voice, unfolding through progressive tensions and evolving rhythmic dynamics. The voice of Michelle Bawden is processed and modulated live through a gestural electronic interface I perform on stage. My movements control sound transformation parameters via systems developed in Max for Live and communicating through OSC, turning the body into an instrument of composition.
